“I LOVE THIS COMMUNITY! Many of my family and friends were born and raised in Ewa Beach and I would be honored to support them and their concerns.” - David “Bradda” Alcos III

David Augustine Alcos III, known to many as “Bradda”, was born at Wahiawa General Hospital in the late 60s. He is the youngest child of David Augustine Alcos Jr. and Gertrude “Trudy” Alcos. David, his parents, and two sisters - Sandi and Penny, lived in various cities on the west side of Oahu but spent most of his life on the Ewa Plantation and in Ewa Beach. Deeply rooted to the Ewa area David has fond childhood memories of working at his Grandpa’s “Popo Alcos” Pigpen and playing in the Ewa plantation sugar cane fields.

David attended Ewa Elementary, Ilima Intermediate, and is a proud graduate of the James Campbell High School class of 1987. He attended the Honolulu Community College Apprenticeship Program for the Drywall trade and after successful completion, established DA Builders a drywall company in 1997. David’s persistence and his natural ability to be business minded was an integral part of the survival of his business till today. David is married to an Ewa Beach girl - Ralena “Lena” Byrd; has two children David Augustine IV (24) and Tiffany Alaine Hi’ilani (16); and is a “proud Papa” to Meilani Leialoha (5) and David Augustine V (1).

David’s unwavering commitment to provide opportunities for youth dates to his high school days when he mentored youth to Polynesian drum and dance; and, exemplified courage by performing in front of thousands at the Brown Bags to Stardom as part of a Polynesian Dance group that won in 1983 and 1985. More recent, David co-founded the Hammerhead Football League with the goal to provide additional opportunities to the ever growing Ewa Beach area. To date, David boasts co-sponsoring the “96706 Kickoff Concert”, a fundraiser to defray costs for equipment benefitting youth sports in the 96706.

David has served on numerous boards including the Ewa Beach Neighborhood Board-Parks Committee and the Ewa Beach Surf Club. The renovation of the James Campbell High School Track and Field, remodeling of the concessions stand, and member of the James Campbell High School Alumni Association is just a snapshot of David’s contributions to the community.

David strives to practice the virtues of compassion, integrity and just being a good industrious person. As a member of the New Hope Leeward Church, he has invested endless community service hours by remodeling the church and serving as member of the praise worship team. He also enjoys family time, spearfishing, and golfing.

David realizes that he alone cannot solve all the issues in District 41; however, he is committed to breaking down barriers and addressing issues to assure safety in the community, enhancing education, supporting educators, and creating community wellness opportunities for all.
